Bradley Sinanan (he/they) is a designer and artist born and raised in Broward County, South Florida where he began designing as a teen teaching himself Photoshop to make Tumblr fandom gifs. He is currently based in Richmond, VA where he is a Post-Masters Teaching Fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University teaching in the Graphic Design department. Previously, he was a Graphic Designer at Norwegian Cruise Line in Miami, FL and a Senior Art Director at Patients & Purpose in New York, NY.

He’s worked in advertising and marketing for global brands and for cultural and educational institutions across a range of media. Previous clients include: The City of Coral Gables (Miami, FL), Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA), The Anderson Gallery (Richmond, VA), Pfizer (New York, NY) and Norwegian Cruise Line (Miami, FL).

His studio practice encompasses performance, video, publication, sound, and interactive screen-based work to explore the relationship between identity, immutability, power, and control. A continued focus of his work is the gaze as the channel of contestation between the self and the other, specifically in relationship to the afterlives of Indo-Caribbean indenture and contemporary forms of cruising on dating apps and within queer nightlife. He has exhibited at The Anderson Gallery (Richmond, VA) and Visible Records (Charlottesville, VA). His self-initiated publications have been featured at Printed Matter’s New York Art Book Fair, the Jersey Art Book Fair, and Sprint Milano.

He holds an M.F.A. in Visual Communications, Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Central Florida.
