Salve for a Monday serves as a collective reminder and my attempt at guidance for my niece, myself, my friends, and family, when we feel trapped, scared, and limited in our power. Using the familiar interface of the Apple iCalendar that was anxiously present in the daily doings of my corporate job, I rush to enter the lines of the poem as events in the calendar for every Monday of the month. The calendar, once a space of anxiety and dread then becomes a space of poetry and of hope.
This work was selected to be screened at the Video Soup show at the Anderson Gallery in 2023.
