The Repair Man2026

Performance, video, sound
Approx duration 6 min.

Completed at the Elsewhere Residency in Summer 2026, The Repair Man is a performance, video, and sound piece that asks whether masculinity can be repaired through the act of repairing broken action figures from the Elsewhere Museum collection.

Using this central question as a point of departure, Sinanan examines online culture and masculinity: What does it mean when masculinity is repaired only through images, rather than through changes in behavior? What happens when the same venues and forms used by the Manosphere—spectacle, images, and algorithms driven by engagement—become the very tools used by those attempting to combat it? These tensions between image and behavior are amplified through Sinanan’s live performance, in which he performs IRL alongside a video representation of himself.

The structure of myth is adapted throughout the piece to examine its function within Men’s Rights ideological texts, specifically Robert Moore’s King, Warrior, Magician, Lover.
